Upgrade SC2 to MESH 3.0

To upgrade your Schuberth SC2 to Mesh 3.0, download and install the SCHUBERTH Bluetooth Device Manager from Schuberth OEM - Sena, then connect your SC2 to your computer and use the software to download and install the latest firmware update. The Mesh 3.0 update was released in May 2025 and includes advanced rider-to-rider connectivity. 

Here are the steps to perform the update:

  1. Download the Device Manager: Go to oem.sena.com/schuberth/ on your computer and download the SCHUBERTH Bluetooth Device Manager for your operating system (Windows or Mac). 
  2. Install the Software: Install the downloaded Device Manager program on your computer. 
  3. Connect your SC2: Connect your SC2 to your computer using a USB cable. 
  4. Update Firmware: Open the SCHUBERTH Bluetooth Device Manager, select your SC2, and choose to download and install the firmware update. 
  5. Confirm the Update: The update will add support for the new Mesh 3.0 technology, allowing for more advanced connectivity with other riders. 

Important Notes:

  • For the most accurate instructions, refer to the online manual on oem.sena.com/schuberth/. 
  • The Mesh 3.0 update is included in the latest firmware.
  • You may need to perform a factory reset of your SC2 and re-pair it with your Bluetooth device after the update.

 

Mesh 3.0 is not backward-compatible with older Mesh 2.0

To downgrade a Schuberth SC2 communication system from Mesh 3.0 to Mesh 2.0, you can use the SCHUBERTH SC2 App and manually switch the Mesh Intercom mode from 3.0 to 2.0 in the settings menu. This option exists because Mesh 3.0 is not backward-compatible with older Mesh 2.0 devices, but the app allows you to revert to the older version to communicate with users who haven't updated yet. 

Steps to Switch from Mesh 3.0 to Mesh 2.0: 

  1. Download the SCHUBERTH SC2 App: on your smartphone.
  2. Open the App: and ensure your SC2 is connected.
  3. Navigate to the Settings or Mesh Intercom Menu: within the app.
  4. Locate the Mesh 3.0 vs. Mesh 2.0 selection: and choose Mesh 2.0.
  5. Save: your settings.

Your Schuberth SC2 will then be able to connect and communicate with other devices that are still using the Mesh 2.0 protocol.
